Welcome to the best school in Queensland – we are the school with heart! I say this with a deep grounded sense of pride in our wonderful and experienced staff, our diverse community of families and of course our students who are the centre of what we do.

I extend to you and your family a warm welcome to Junction Park State School and look forward to sharing with you the important task of educating your child.

We value the history and traditions of our school. Our heritage buildings, school song and school motto, Fortitude and Fidelity, richly represent this history as students have been ‘walking through the gate’ since 1888.

At Junction Park State School we are proud of our students and their achievements and work cooperatively with all members of our school community to ensure the values and traditions that our community holds dear are taught to our children. Parents and staff are committed to providing a friendly and supportive school environment that allows students to achieve their potential.

Our school is a creative and vibrant learning environment. Learning is stimulating, innovative and exciting. We support each other and care for each other and our strength is our welcoming and inclusive community. We value individuals from all social and cultural backgrounds; everyone has ownership. We share the courage to change; to challenge the way we have always done things and to innovate in our teaching. We are a school where great ideas are embraced. We find and support the spark in every student.

We provide an inclusive teaching and learning environment for all.

Inclusive education means that every day, in every classroom, every student is learning and achieving in a safe, supportive, disciplined and differentiated learning environment. It builds our community that value, celebrate and respond to diversity. It is underpinned by respectful relationships between learners and school community members. It is supported by collaborative relationships with parents and our community through communication, learning partnerships, participation and consultative decision-making.

In summary - our vision for inclusion is:

Access - Participation - Engagement - Success

This website provides school information documents and will answer many of the questions you have about how your child will enter into school life. I invite you to visit the school, to get to know the staff and other parents because it is by developing a close relationship between parents and staff that we can achieve the very best for our children. I would be happy to provide a personal tour of our wonderful school, so please contact the best administration staff in any Queensland school - Tracey, Maria and Angela – they have extensive experience and knowledge of our school community and can help in any way.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Best regards

John Bray
