Prep Transition Process
Starting school is an important milestone in a child's life and the transition period to formal schooling is a critical time that shapes long-term educational experiences.
As a school, we are tasked with the responsibility to plan and enact transition strategies that effectively support each child and meet their individual needs so that every child succeeds. Effective transition processes are integral to establishing positive relationships and a feeling of belonging for all. The Junction Park SS Prep Transition Process aims to give families multiple opportunities to engage with the school and for our school community to get to know our future Prep students.
Term 1 & 2 - School Tour – Principal
This the perfect opportunity to learn more about the school community and see how a typical Prep class operates.
Term 4 - Transition Days
As part of our Transition program, students will have opportunities to visit for short morning sessions to experience different activities in the school. This includes an inside play session and outside play session. Dates are confirmed and communicated in Term 3 to the parents of children enrolled to start Prep in 2025 at Junction Park State School.
Class composition will be finalised after completion of our Transition session and you will be notified of your child's class and Teacher for 2025. We will then invite you to book a short 15min interview so that your child's Teacher can get to know your child in a one-to-one setting.
