Purpose
In 2022, approximately $290 million will be allocated to Queensland state schools as part of the Investing for Success (I4S) program.
State schools will use I4S funding to support students to achieve improved outcomes across all stages of schooling.
I4S funding is in addition to the standard funding that each state school receives each year.

How is it calculated?
Each school's funding includes: a base component that is calculated using student enrolments and loading components to provide additional resources based on student and school characteristics.
Base amounts will be finalised using Day 8 2022 enrolment data. Preliminary estimated figures are provided using 2021 February enrolment information to enable schools to commence planning.
Loading components that contribute to your school’s 2022 I4S funding have been calculated and finalised using enrolment information collected in Semester 1, 2021. Finalising these inputs using 2021 data provides schools greater certainty about their I4S funding (about half the total amount is allocated through loadings) and will help plan staffing and services for 2022.
Base amount:
- $248 per student enrolled in all year levels, for all school types.
Loadings:
- Socio-economic Status (SES): $451 per student with an Index of Relative Socio-Economic Disadvantage (IRSED) value in the lowest quintile (Quintile 1) of Queensland values; and $253 per student with an IRSED value in Quintile 2
- Indigenous: $338 for each Indigenous student enrolled in Prep–Year 12
- Students with Disability (SWD): $338 per student with an approved EAP Profile with a score in Quartiles 3 or 4 enrolled in a mainstream school; $224 per student enrolled in a special school
- English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) (non-refugees): $2,592 for each EAL/D non-refugee student born outside Australia who had a standard lower than a ‘C' standard in English reported in Semester 1, 2020
- Refugees: $7,043 for each student enrolled who is a third-year refugee
- School location: $79 per student enrolled in a Very Remote school, $39 per student enrolled in a Remote school, and $17 per student enrolled in an Outer Provincial school
- School size: $30,003 per school for medium to larger-sized primary schools (enrolments greater than 600 and less than or equal to 800) to ensure capacity and capability to manage finances.
