Our school is serviced by a qualified Music Teacher, Sophie Hodgson, who conducts lessons each week for all year levels. Prep to year 6 children participate in this music program.
Both Senior and Junior Choirs are trained under the guidance of the Music Teacher and perform within the school, at competitions and various functions within the community such as Harmony Day, our NAIDOC event, the school fete and Music @ The Junction.
The Junior Choir called the Mini Hearts Choir was established in 2014 to cater for children in years 1 and 2 who love to sing. The emphasis is on having fun while developing choral skills. The choir rehearses in the Hall on Thursdays from 8:00am.
The Senior Choir (Years 3-6) is an unauditioned choir that rehearses in the Activities room on Friday morning from 8:00am.
A program of brass (trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium), woodwind (clarinet, flute and saxophone), strings (violin & cello) and percussion (drums, xylophone, cymbals) is offered as an extra-curricular activity. An annual levy applies to this activity.
