Our Instrumental Music teacher, Mrs Carolyn Ingram, visits the school each Monday to teach our children.
Our Strings teacher, Ms Jan Stuart-Street, teaches our students each Thursday.
Our Music teacher, Mrs Sophie Hodgson, conducts both a Junior and senior Choir on the days she works at our school.
Junction Park State School has a close relationship with our surrounding State High Schools. Students in the senior schools travel to the high schools and participate in Chemistry Challenges and other events.
Science Club and the annual Science Fair also give our junior scientists opportunities to extend their knowledge, skills and understanding of the way scientists work.
Online Projects (IMPACT)
Some students from Junior and Senior classes are involved in online workshops facilitated by The Learning Place. These students who are usually identified by the Education Department in terms of their NAPLAN results are extended by sessions on writing, problem-solving and critical thinking. In the last few years, the school has focused on numeracy in these sessions.
Children have opportunities to participate at District, Regional and State level, according to their ability.
Specialist clinics are also run during lessons, including soccer, cricket, volleyball, AFL and Rugby League, depending on the availability of programs.
Sport activities are also offered after school e.g. Auskick ; these may require parents to pay fees.
Our school is fortunate to have our own swimming pools which are also used for Learn To Swim, Squad Training and for the school swimming club, JETS.
Chess, Keyboards, Guitar tutoring and other fee-paying activities also occur, using the school's facilities.
