Junction Park State School is very happy and excited to once again have our friends from Yoshimi Machi Junior High School visit us from Japan. On Friday 31st July, we were fortunate to have 10 students and 2 teachers (including the principal) from Yoshimi Machi in Saitama,
arrive as our special guests at Junction Park State School. The
students will be staying with some of our wonderful Junction Park
families and will also be participating in school lessons during their
time with us, in order to experience family and school life in
Australia. This is also a fantastic opportunity for our students to
learn first-hand about Japanese language and culture and to practice
their language skills.
Friday we held a parade to welcome our guests to our school, community
and to Australia, and our school captains showed great courage and skill
in delivering a welcome speech in Japanese that was very much
appreciated by our guests. The Yoshimi Machi students then spent the day touring the school, meeting staff and students as well as getting to know their homestay families and school buddies and making new friends.
We look forward to an exciting week where we can showcase all the amazing people and programs Junction Park has to offer!
