On Tuesday JPSS had a visit from Toby Smith (Ecologist, UQ) Toby visited the school last year and presented an informative bee presentation. So excited by the schools enthusiasm for all things buzzy Toby returned to visit 2KA, 2A and 1D. The children got to look inside a hive and taste honey. Here's what Hannah M ( 2KA) had to say about it:
When Toby the Bee Man comes to our school he tells us about bees. He opens the hives and lets us taste the native bee's honey. The native bee honey tastes different to the honey you buy in a shop because it's not as sweet. Toby the Bee Man told us that native bees don't sting but they sometimes get stuck in our hair and try to climb up our nose.
