Well, what a night! Unfortunately, the 3 storm fronts that passed over put a dampener on the night, but that didn’t stop us!!
About 150 people braved the rain to join together for some delicious
international food including Greek souvlaki and sweets, Japanese sushi
and noodles, Indian goat curry, BBQ haloumi, Chinese BBQ pork belly
burgers and spring rolls and Vietnamese fresh rice paper rolls. A huge
thanks to the water logged cooks – you did an amazing job, and it was
just what we needed to warm our bellies!
A large proportion of our Mini and Senior Hearts Choir members braved
the wet to lead about 100 people in singing some Christmas carols under
A Block. They were joined by some of the strings groups, and it sounded
absolutely amazing as we all sung We Three Kings together with the
choir and strings!
Unfortunately, the night wasn’t as big as we had hoped, but we loved
seeing the people who managed to get there, and we had a fun, cosy time
Due to the weather, we were not
able to draw the raffle on Saturday night. However, it will be drawn on
Thursday afternoon at the final assembly. Tickets are still available!
As we come to the end of the school year, I’d love to take this
opportunity to thank you all for welcoming me so warmly into the
Junction Park community. I have really enjoyed getting to know your
children and some of you.
Can I encourage you this Christmas time to celebrate with family and
friends and enjoy the break from the day-to-day routine. May we all
remember those less fortunate than ourselves at this time, and look for
opportunities to bless them.
Have an awesome break and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year!
