Our school ANZAC commemoration was held on Tuesday 24 April. It was a
very moving and beautiful occasion with performances from our choir and
our recorder ensemble. Thank you to our school captains who so expertly
compered the ceremony and to Ms Hodgson, our Music teacher who led the
choir and recorder ensemble.
We were privileged to have members of the Stephens Sub-Branch of the
RSL and local politicians Mr Graham Perrett MP and Mr Ian McKenzie in
attendance. Many thanks to Philip Grannum from Holland Park State High
School who performed the Last Post and Reveille for us. Thank you to
Ange, Maria, Meaghan and Tracey for creating the wreaths and providing a
lovely afternoon tea.
Thank you also to Mrs Todd, our Eco Captain, Amira I, and the team of
Year 6 students for tidying and planting new plants in our ANZAC
memorial garden. The garden looked fabulous for our school service and
the remembrance hearts were a great idea that enabled students to
participate and remember loved ones.
Thank you to the students, families, staff, and members of our
community who joined us for the Stephens RSL march at Yeronga State
School. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces.
