Early this year, our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and Rob Corless (animator and parent of Lola, Jasper and Miles) collaborated on an entry for the ACMI Screen It Competition.  The Leaf Detective, a short stop motion animation, was made with 4F.  We were amazed to find our animation was shortlisted in the finals alongside three other animated films!  You can watch The Leaf Detective HERE!

On Friday, Lucia P and Emiliana M represented 4F and Junction Park State School attending the award ceremony at ACMI in Melbourne.  The ceremony was great and we got to see the other finalists' work. The other finalists and winning animation were really good and funny.

Adam Elliot, creator of Harvey Krumpet, met the girls and 4F's clay creation 'Tweet', the Leaf Detective.  There was a huge table piled high with prizes and we got to see a snippet of our animation on the big screen - it was really exciting!

The older age categories had some spooky and confusing films.  Lucia's favourite in her age category was 'The Mystery of the Missing Sock', which told the story of a runaway sock that goes to a sock disco before being found.

The finalist games in the Games Category were very clever and funny.  We got to play them in the ACMI games room.

We were told the theme for next years competition and we can't wait to get started on our next entry.

If you are interested, please go to the ACMI webpage to see the full list of finalists or visit their youtube channel to watch the entries.
