The Australian Curriculum External link is designed to help students to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. At Junction Park State School, we teach and assess in alignment with the Australian Curriculum, to ensure the sequence of learning from Prep to Year 6 maintains rigor and appropriateness.
The Curriculum includes a variety of learning areas. Each learning area focuses on developing subject-specific knowledges, skills, vocabulary and understanding. The eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum include English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), The Arts (Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Drama and Media Arts), Technologies (Digital and Design) and Languages (Japanese in Prep - 6).
Our shared understanding of individualized education involves knowing the learner through the identification of student needs and responding to them in a planned approach so they are challenged, supported and encouraged to reach their potential. Junction Park State School has policies and procedures to support differentiated learning for all students across all curriculum areas.
Curriculum Expo
At the end of each Term families are invited to visit their child's classrooms to view the progression of learning that has taken place throughout the term. Curriculum Expos are a celebration of student learning and gives families an opportunity to sit with their child and be immersed in the classroom environment. Parents will be sent information regarding Curriculum and Cultural Days through our digital newsletter.
