Solar Car Visit

26/06/2014

On Thursday 19 June we were very lucky to have Leanne and Darren Pearson bring a solar car to the school and spend the day showing all the students, teachers and some parents too!

The car is called Arrow 1 and was the car that Team Arrow, of which Darren was a member, raced in the Solar Car Challenge last year from Darwin to Adelaide.

Ironically, it was a rainy day on Thursday but this did not stand in the way of the fun the kids (and adults) had learning about solar cars and the race.

As part of this event we held a very successful sausage sizzle after school to raise money for the Science program at school.

I would like to thank John P for helping set up everything on the day. Also a big thank you to Jason and Wendy for doing the cooking as well as Joah, Jeremy, Brayden and Tillee for all their help serving people at the sausage sizzle.

Finally, the biggest thanks go to Leanne and Darren for their time and enthusiasm in bringing this amazing car to school.
