Green Teamreen

8/10/2014
Welcome back. Hope your holidays were restorative and fun. The Green Team and Dirty Works (Ky and Nico) have been working hard in the Yummy garden removing trees and planting many more.

A new build is taking place thanks to the Grant writing glory of Helene and Donna N, soon the Yummy garden will be home to a shady outside learning centre, gorgeous artwork and an extensive irrigation system. Yipppee! not to mention the fruit forest that has already been planted.

Holiday weeding, mulching, feeding and watering has supported spring growth and we have mango. lemonade and mulberry fruiting.

Casual gardening will take a break during October...oh no!! Any parents keen to support the yumming garden, please feel free to pick up the hose and do some watering...get acquainted with the new growth and planting...kid free!

Over the holidays an application was submitted to the Quest Community Fund to finance a purpose-built shed to allow children access to gardening equipment. Please follow this link http://quest.communitygrants.net.au/idea/junction-park-state-school-itsy-bitsy-garden-shed and put your vote in so we can support Junction Park State School's emerging garden program.

Nicole W has also added to her wonderful painted playground...come and have a look. It truly sings.

Finally, thank you to Martin M for building the possum box to be hung in the fig tree.

Thank you!
